What is Hay Fever?

Hay fever is the common name for allergic rhinitis ("rhino" unfortunately refers to the nose and "itis" meaning inflammatory), so it is defined as inflammation of the nose caused by allergy. However, hay fever or allergic rhinitis can also effect the eyes, sinuses, throat and ears.
